Our MohanJi..

That day (16th Feb), we were in Delhi for the Ghosh Shibir and were chitchatting when we got the news from blr about Mohanji. Immediately, everyone was with tears including Dinesh kamathji who was with us at that time.

Everyone started recollecting their interactions with Mohanji and one among them also said we should have been there in Blr at this time; But, one way it was good that we were not in blr.The very word 'Mohanji' brings us the smiling picture from the way he walk to the way he talk , which was simply full of inspiration, & we didn't want to see any other forms of his and the final rituals done to his body…

Mohanji was a symbol of Dynamism, Aggressiveness, Confidence and Motivation .

He was ever cheerful & joyful and transferred the same to every one he met. He use to love people more than he wanted them (without hidden intentions) and was man with a pure heart .

Has anyone ever seen Mohanji shouting or angry at some one? Or in depressed, dejected, dull mood? No, never.

That doesn't mean that he didn't had any work pressure, those who were aware of the responsibilities he was handling can realize it. He was an excellent Manager .

"One machine can do the work of one hundred ordinary men, but one hundred machines cannot do the work of one extra-ordinary man" ; he was undoubtedly an 'extra-ordinary' man.

I am sure that everyone will agree with me when I say that 'anyone who met him would get charged with inspiration and feel the energy bubbling out of him'.

Above all these qualities, his ego-less and down to earth attitude was his highest virtue that made him much great and dearer to all.

Although Mohanji was 45 years old, actual manifestation of the real personality and exponential growth of the same was just in 10 years (1996-2006).

Today, definitely there is a vacuum created with his demise due to the amount of responsibilities he had been handling and difficulty in replacing it immediately. We (the whole nation) must always be ever thankful to Pa.Pu Dr.Ji who has set up a 'system' that produces 'Mohanji s' to fulfill such need of the society from time to time.

Although it is very difficult to digest, the fact is that, he will no more be available to us with 'that body' which we interacted with, but will ever be in our hearts to drive us to do right things.

We used to hear about great men like Azad, Bhagat singh and others in stories, but, here was a similar man of our times, with whom we have spent our time and got inspired, are we not lucky??? Definitely Yes!! If so lets all work for the cause he dedicated himself and try & live the way he was….

That's real shradhanjali, which he would like, isn't it??

MOHANKUMAR-NENAPUGALU

dear sitaram,
I was one of the many friends of mohan kumar. I came to knew mohan throgh my friend ns mohan ex Mico during 1980,s.  Later on he was so friendly , such that whenever he had time while passsing throgh BSK I STAGE blore he used to drop to our house.
In the RSS organisation , he grew like Vamana from entry level to the state level by his commited and self less work in a very short time.
He was a very fine human being and friendly  to all .
Few years back I had the oppurtunity to  attend a shraddajali progarmme of Late Sri H Seshadri at Kuvempu Kalakshetra at Blore with him.
I was very much shocked to hear the news of his suddean demise from my collegemate and friend Sri B N VijayaKumar on shivarathri day.
He is in our hearts forever
Really a very big loss to the Society and the Organisations he was working.

Mohanji

Dear Sitaram,

I have been a Friend of HKM since 1980 and was shocked to hear the news.

The best that I could do, staying in Thailand now, was to puttogether some random thoughts of mine for the blog....

***********************************************************************************

HKM ninna nenapugalu….

Mohanji as the world knows him today was introduced to me by his brother Madhu, when we started our engineering.

He had been Mohana to me and we almost shared the same name and also shared the same year and month of birth.

He transitioned from being Mohana to HKM to Mohanji.

These are my random thoughts of a simple man who did great things and touched some of our lives in an unforgettable way and achieved greatness.

Our association enhanced and our joint work as Swayamsevak started when we launched the "Vishwakarma Technical Society" under the guidance of Sri Narahari, our professor at BMSCE and a Swayamsevak himself.

We were a bunch of like minded students wanting to get rid of the "College Politics" and involve in propogating the Sangh Culture and bring in access to technical subjects to the Engineering students in Bangalore.

Mohan was our representative from UVCE and his commitment to the cause was unquestionable.

He was always bubbling with enthusiasm and coming out with ideas and innovations in our team.

My relationship with Mohan strengthened when we joined MICO and worked "Side by Side".

His professionalism and his sense of Humor was superb.

He endeared himself with his dedication to work and at the same time maintained excellent relationships with all people around him.

He was one the few who could very easily remember the names and the background of people.

He used to fascinate me by genuinely talking to people as a part of their family.

Anybody who came in touch with him instantly made him a part of their family.

His hearty laugh was infectious and made us always smile.

Mohan's command over language helped us communicating difficult technical subjects to our work force at MICO very easily.

He was truly a "Svayam Sveekrutham Kantakaakeerna maargam.."

He used to make other problems a part of his. He was always there and could be counted up on.

It is said "Raaja dvaare Smashaanesha yaha thishtathi sa baandhavaha" and Mohan was a Badhu in that sense.

We parted our (almost) day to day interaction when I left MICO and he soon followed the suit, but for a truly noble cause.

Mohanji was born…..

My interaction with Mohanji since then, was over the e-mail and during visits to Bangalore.

His dedication, his empathy to the poor and the down trodden of the society and his sense of duty as a "Dharma Rakshaka" came out through his talks and mails.

He was concerned about the exploitation of the poor and the way they are being converted to other faiths by the lure of materialistic benefits.

His conviction was to work for these portions of the society and hence protect them from the exploitation and retention to the faith that they were born into.

It has been a shock to those of us who have interacted with him and still look at his Photo with a disbelief that he is no more with us to share our Joys and griefs.

Mohana, HKM, Mohanji we all miss you..

You came into our life like a jasmine – wafted your fragrance for a while and left behind sweet senses and left us craving for more.

Mohan NS

Shraddhanjali TO mohan ji.

Namaste,
Sorry to hear this shocking news. By hearing this , One thing I got realized is that great people don't live on this earth for long time. God will give them very short  period to achieve lot and make sure they will be able achieve it within their life span.

Mohan ji's demise is a great loss for sangh family in Karnataka. I got chance to work with him during IT milan efforts in Bangalore. I still remember some of the instances where I got lot of motivation from Mohan ji. Though he used to be so busy with several other Sangha responsibilities and activities, he used to make sure to participate in It milan initiatives and guide us.  Especially when we were planning Professionals in Seva, his involvement and advices really encouraged the IT milan karyakarthas.

Finally I am confident that he has created numerous number of Mohan jis in Bangalore  and other areas through his interaction and inspiration to lot of other karyakarthas. Only way we can show our tribute to him is to take his mission  forward and try to implement his ideas in our highest level possible way.

Om Shanthi.

TRIBUTES TO MOHAN KUMAR

TRIBUTES TO MOHAN KUMAR

He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 46. At the moment of the last breadth he also never knew that the 'attack was from his heart'.That was the reason for him to be not able to take precautionary measures. He was very good 'dand yuddha' Shikshak. He was well aware of taking 'rodh'(Protective Measure) for any kind of Dand aaghaat(attack). But when it comes to his heart attack, he was not prepared. Any way, that is called as 'Destiny'.

He took birth in Krishnamurthy Hebbar and Susheelamma family on 22nd July, 1962. Completed his B.E.(Mechanical) in 1985. Immediately he was absorbed to the prestigious MICO Company. He served there in different departments with exceptional ability. During Hindu Sangama days, i.e., in 1982, he came in contact with RSS through his younger brother Raghavendra Hebbar. In the days of 1985 he became Karyakarta. With in a short span of time, with his organising ability, he rose from Mukhya Shaikshak to Mahanagara Karyavaha in 1995. Mean while he wanted to dedicate more and more time to Sangha Karya, but he was constrained by his factory timings. By that time he has already decided to not to marry. He was successful in convincing his mother about this issue. He was almost like a full timer. Till that time he was not happy by his time devotion. With the intense urge to do more and more social work, in 2002 he finally decided to resign from the factory, at the time when he was Deputy Manager. Most of his colleagues and other higher officers were surprised by his decision. But he was very determined. He discussed this matter with Sangha Adhikaries and got the approval.

Then he felt himself as a free bird. He tried to implement every thought of his own. Knowing his capabilities He was taken to Karanataka Dakshin Prantha Karyakarini Mandali team. He was made in-charge of 'Dharma Jagarana', a forum dedicated to stop conversions and bring back the converts to their Mother fold. When there was news of Benny Hinn, a Christian faith healer visiting Bangalore, Mohan ji planned and executed various programmes. Finally Benny Hin himself has to apologise for the statements made against Hindu Dharama by his organisers. Benny Hin's whole show was utterly failed by the tremendous response from all sections of the Hindu Society.

Right from his entry to the Sangha, he was very much against Christian conversion activities. When he became Mahanagar Karyavaha he gave special attention to Halasur and Cantonment area, where all these illegal anti-national conversion elements are centered. He personally visited all the slums where conversion was in full fledge. In Banaglore city there are about 650 slums, out of which he must have visited more than 400 slums personally. So was his burning concern.

He was made co-ordinator of 'Bharateeya Samskrutika Parishat'. With that he was touring all over the Kanrataka state, meeting various Swamijis and Mathaadhipatis and ask them to reform our Hindu Society.. When the 'Tirupati Tirumala shrines' became spots of vangelical missionary forces, he took the responsibility as Convener of Tirupti Tirumala Samrkshana Samiti Karnataka State unit co-ordinator. The whole atmosphere, in Karnataka State became unrest by this Tirupati development. Every news paper carried special series of stories on Tirupati Tirumala Christian Conversion activities. The Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams had to visit to Bangalore twice and was compelled to address a press meet and a public meeting. He tried to deny the charges, but could not convince the public. All Swamiji's and religious heads of the Hindu Society came out openly to condemn these evangelical threats at Tirupati.

In 2001 he revived seva organisation called 'Keshava Seva Samiti', in his own words,"to reach the unreached". Now this activity has more than 10 full timers and 45 slums are covered by the project, reaching 1,800 slum children. Recently one full day programme was arranged "Bala Sangama for unprivileged". Thousands of Slum Children participated.

He was made as reference person for the activities of Rashtrothana Parishat, which is well known for its diversified Seva, Educational and Literary activities.

In spite of all his busy schedules he was very much ambitious to take up many more such Social Activities.

Let us pray for the departed soul.

Shraddanjali for Mohanji

What a tragic loss, its impossible to express in words. Why did God take him away from all of us? He could have done wonders, and would have made this world a better place.

Both of us were in same class during PUC, I still remember the double riding on the Bi-Cycle. He was a born leader. During engineering, only because of him, 80 of us got a chance to see beautiful India. He single handily organized all India trip.

I still remember the long talks standing near his house gate.

He had wonderful smile and deep laugh. He had such a magnetic personality. If any one meets him once, they would remember him forever. Every one in my family knew him because of his personality.

I still remember him as Mohana. Unfortunately I never got chance to see MohanJi in action. He was unselfish and dedicated himself to Hinduism. Even though he was very busy, he always had time for the family and friends.

It is really a very sad and shocking.

May his soul rest in peace.

We will pray to almighty to give his family members the strength to bear the tragedy.

Jayadatta

Shraddanjali for Mohanji

Dear Shivaram
The mail received from Sri. Shantharam, Mohan's classmate and who is  at present working in US as a Director in Covansys.

Dear Prasanna,

Thanks for informing the news. Indeed,  Mohans' sudden demise is very shocking, painful and difficult to digest.

In our classmates circel, We all know him as our enthusiastic CR (class representative), one of the organizers of our all India trip, always a champion amongst us representing the finest values of our culture and a great Hindu activist.

Bicycling with him from KR Road  to UVCE along with our other Basavanagui frineds and talking all things under the world during our BE days come to my mind. All of us know that how much he has scarified for the bigger goal he pursued, by remaining a bachelor, resigning from MICO job and working full time on Sangha activities.

Overall, it is a great loss not only for Sangha but also for our community. All we can do at the moment is pray to almighty to give his family members the strength to bear the tragedy and get on with life.

Pl share my thoughts and condolences to their families. Planning to call his brother Madhu who might have reached India from here by now.

Thanks for  informing /sharing the news.

With Regards,
Shantharam

I deeply regret the loss of shri Mohan kumar ji.
After coming to Bangalore in November 2000,I heard his
speach and got attracted to him. Since then many
times I met him. He is not only a good orator, but
also a good motivator. Got might be fond of him to
take away at such an young age. But we lost a great
leader.
It is really a very sad incident. May his soul rest
in peace and motivate many workers from heaven.

adi seshu

Nudidhanthe Nadedhavana...

If you are in Sangha for atleast an year, you would have come across, terms like, “Ondhu Jeevana, Ondhu Dhyeya”, ‘Sangha Kendrita Jeevana’ etc. My “Shradhanjali” to Mohan ji would be to have glimpse of these terms with MohanJi in context.

‘Ondhu Jeevana, Ondhu Dhyeya’

Few years back in a ‘karyakartha’s shibhir’ in Hassan, Manya Shri. Krishannappaji had inspired us in a Bouddhik varga about “One Life One Dhyeya”. Call it my inability to grasp  such great ‘vicharas’ but I never understood what it meant  practically. Honestly speaking, I could not relate this to a Prachaarak’s Life as I always felt their’s was a different way of life. Mohanji, a person who was ‘not’ a pracharak but not anything less than that, came out as an example of what Krishnappaji had said the other day in Hasan. He resigned a “Lucrative Job” (That’s What The Hindu had to say) and worked only for the ‘dhyeya’ he believed.

‘Sangha Kendrita Jeevana’

If you see his journey from a Bhaga Karyavaha (The Then Nagara Karyavaha), to BengaLuru Mahanagar Karyavaha to the Prantha Karyakaarini Sadasya, he made his Life ‘Sangha Centric’ as the days went by.

MelPankthi

Something wonderful about Sangha is this – ‘Drawing Melpankthi’. My, NagraKaryavaha (Jayanagara) Guru was recollecting his recent conversation with Mohanji.

Guru: Mohanji, Dharma JagaranaHegidhe

Mohanji: Dharma Jagarana tumba chennagi naditha idhe…aadhre… enrayya, yaaru Shaakhe henge naditha idhe anthane kelalvalayya….

In this small conversation, he indicates how much importance he gives to Shakha, even though his priorities were different. Guru told me that later in the conversation, Mohanji said that he still attends the Shakha twice a day. This is what Inspires me.  The person who brought Mohanji to Sangha, Manya Shri. V.A Gopal, he also used to attend the Shakha everyday without fail.

Some People, Some Time, More People More Time Theory

If you have ever attended a “Sangha Shiksha Varga’ you definetely would have heard these phrases. Mohanji not just preached these in his Baitaks. But did it. His journey from ‘Some Time’ to ‘Full Time’  is his Life.

Well, we woke up on Friday, 16th Feb 2006 to hear the sad news of Mohanji departure from this world, the world that he strived his entire life to make a better place.  When I look skywards, I can hear his ‘typical’ laughter ringing in my ears and can see that ‘ThunTa Nagu’  on his face, as though he is looking all of us from there how we are progressing. As Santoshji explained, it is not just a person who died, 100’s of Dreams died, 1000’of Yojane’s died with Mohanji.  That day one person was lamenting how will we ever get such a person again. The thought of this makes me go into a deep thought.

Sometimes, I feel why should someone had to convey me the news. Just the thought of Mohan hale and healthy, travelling around and doing Sangha Kaarya would have been so good. May be the Lord Venkateshwara was so happy with his work at Tirupathi that he wanted him there so soon.

All Said and done, the right Shraddhanjali for Mohanji is not words But Action.

Shraddanjali to Mohanji

Still I can't believe that our Mohanji is no more. Mohanji exists inside the thousands of Karyakarthas. I had an opportunity for more than 12 years to closely work with this amazing determined personality. Starting from Ghatanayak to Bhaga karyavah, he guided me in every step. It's very difficult to describe Mohan in words...All the time he guided us to achieve the excellent...Agraha for both Quality and volume. Person who felt 24 hours in a day is not sufficient for him...Karma Yogi....Outstanding management in a practical style...never hurt anybody's feelings..but always ensuring to give a feeling to Karyakartha's that he is just one step forward compare to us. Karyakartha's used to feel that they should join Mohan in the next step always...Ability to talk and convince any level of personality in the society & bringing them closure to Sangh vichara...Making any tough work as simple as possible with ofcourse with an excellent output....For Sangh it is not so easy to produce one more Mohan...surely it is a big loss for the society...We pray Bhagavan to give tremendous energy to Mohanji mother and brothers & thousands of karyakartha's who are very close relatives of Mohan...He lived in many homes...Sangasthans...hearts of Balak to Senior Adhikari's...Staying so far from Bangalore, felt so much about not getting anthima darshan of a great Saint....

Our sincere shraddanjali to Mohanji.....Kitty (Krishna Gowda) & family.

Mohan Ji

Really could not believe when I got a call from my friend that Mohan Ji is no more.. Its a great loss to Hindu Society and for all swayam sevaks. As rightly mentioned by Sivaram, God has really given Moksha to him. May his soul rest in peace.

He was just on ground. Very practical person. He knew how to talk to a balaka ( A small Boy) in shaka and how to address a reporter or How to convince a big shot in the society for a good cause or how to engage swamijis of different Mutts for social work.

When he used to talk to Karyakartas ( Workers), one could see deep 'agraha' (Insistence) in his feelings. His innovative way of planning activities, mentoring karyakartaas was amazing.

We all miss him..

Shraddanjali to Mohan Kumar

Namaste,

“Yaava Mohana Murali Karethu Deera thirake Nennanu”…….. One of the famous song been remembered at this time. I do remember the days when he used to come to my home and teach me the songs which we used to sing in the playgrounds.

He is one of the person, whom we all loved, because of his simplicity.

He had the sprite in him and showed the world that nothing is impossible on this earth.

We all need to learn more from his foot steps….

Jai Sriram...

Dedicated to Mohan Kumar HK, The Karma Yogi

If any one had doubts that whether some one can achieve ‘Moksha’ by pure ‘Karma Yoga’, then please do not waste any more time… Study and follow the life of Mohan Kumar HK…. The true Karma Yogi “Arjuna”!!, Plus Tyaga Yogi “Bhishma”.

I had learnt the Song about Sri Docterji (founder of Rastriya Swyam Sevak Sangha) as SwayamSevak,
“ Deha NashwarWendu, Desha ShaswataWendu
……
Agni Aahuti Yenna Sarwa SukhaVendu
KalaKuutava Kudida Kali Purusha Naru…”

I did don’t get chance to See Sri Docterji;
If some one sings that above song asks me “ But I was so fortunate to be with “KalaKuutava Kudida Kali Purusha Naru” ? I will shout “Moahana…”, “Mohana..”

Today on Shivararti day of 2007, God was forced to give him “Moksha”, since God could not bear the enormous weight his ‘Punya’ by doing “Niskam Karma”

I am stopping here, Since I have to go and do all night Shivaratri Pooja, In memory of my friend, guide, Guru Mohana…
